About Us

The store, located in Reardan, Washington, first opened its doors in 1996, as an interesting hobby turned into something more for Bob Piper. Since then, Bob and his
wife Penny have seen the business flourish as people all over the Pacific Northwest heard about the only store in the region dedicated to farm toys and collectibles. The
store now occupies approximately 1200 square feet in a brick building downtown.

Bob and Penny Piper have called Reardan their home since 1964, when Bob first started in the Union 76 service station delivering bulk fuel and oil to local customers. Penny graduated as a registered nurse in 1966 and has worked locally since then. Bob has also farmed, sold insurance, and worked as Reardan's postmaster -- but is now content to sell his farm toys. One could consider this his recreational therapy, as he's been confined to a wheelchair since 1986, due to a spinal cord disorder called syringomyelia. You can learn more about this disorder at www.asap.org. The family farm, which has been in Penny's family since 1925, is now operated by their son, Mike, and his wife Jodi.

In addition to providing nearly every imaginable farm toy to inquiring customers,
Piper Farm Toys is proud to support the 4H and FFA programs in the local area.
These programs, Bob and Penny believe, provide our young people with valuable
training and learning experiences that they will carry with them the rest of their
lives. The store also supports its local Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Ag
Bureau at Spokane's Ag Expo which annually brings the latest high tech ideas
and machinery to local farmers.
